The Annual Oregon Lavender Festival
McKenzie River Lavender hosts a Lavender Festival on July 11-13 from 10am to 5pm. The event is free to the public. Everyone is invited to experience the intoxicating aroma and intense purple colors from the five lavender varieties planted beside the McKenzie River a few miles east of Walterville. Listen to the hum of the bees and feel the fragrant flowers stroke your legs as you take a meditative walk through our lavender labyrinth. Our specialty lavender products include fresh bouquets of lavender, essential oil and room freshener/linen spray, unique lavender crafts, soaps, lotions and more. During the Festival lavender lemonade is available for tasting and lavender infused honey, shortbread cookies and Marion berry preserves will tempt your palate.
The Festival also includes a country bazaar that showcases the creations of many local artisans and a petting zoo to delight the children. Relax by the McKenzie River while you sip lavender lemonade, listen to music, purchase lunch, or dine on your own picnic.
Learn about the planting and care of lavender and select from over ten lavender varieties for your own garden. To top the day off, take home a lavender bouquet that you picked yourself for only $5.
