Annual
McKenzie River Celebration
Thursday, September 12
6 PM

McKenzie Fire & Rescue Training Center, Leaburg
All McKenzie River residents and other interested persons are invited to join the Watershed Council at its annual gathering.
We will have an entertaining speaker and updates on recent accomplishments in fish and wildlife habitat restoration and field-based watershed education.
This will be a dinner event.
The council will provide the main entrée, and we ask attendees to bring their favorite side dish, salad or dessert.
Please join the council to celebrate this fantastic and unique watershed.
The McKenzie Watershed Council was formed in 1993 to help address watershed management issues in the McKenzie River watershed, as well as provide a framework for voluntary coordination and cooperation among key interests in the development and implementation of a watershed action plan.
The Council's vision is that through the McKenzie Watershed Council’s Conservation Strategy, the McKenzie River watershed supports exceptional water quality and habitats in balance with human livelihood and quality of life.
It is the mission of the Council to foster better stewardship of the McKenzie River watershed resources, deal with issues in advance of resource degradation, and ensure sustainable watershed health, functions and uses. The Council will accomplish its mission through fostering voluntary partnerships, collaboration and public awareness.
We work primarily with private landowners on a voluntary basis to conserve and restore riparian and aquatic habitat, cooperate with partners to monitor and maintain water quality, implement watershed education programs, focus outreach to residents and provide a monthly forum for addressing important issues.
